The room and the place in general were extremely clean. It was also secure. This is a student residence that apparently is let out to travelers, particularly when the university is not in full session. We had an efficiency apartment with kitchen and clothes washing facilities, so it was quite convenient; we didn't have to go out to eat all the time and we could do laundry. Someone came in mid-week to change the linens and clean the bathroom and kitchen. This was by no means luxurious but it was clean and comfortable and it fit our budget for a full week's stay.

Lnc is conveniently located, safe and reliable, friendly and supportive, and feel like 'home away from home'!

Informal and friendly, not like a typical hotel.

We really enjoyed being able to cook breakfast before starting out for the day. It was incredibly convenient for walking to the fringe venues and the city centre.

It was a little warm since the windows are safety windows and the provision of a fan would be helpful.

i was a visitor to the Edinburgh Festival. As such, the location was supurb. Many of the fringe activities were within walking distance. In fact, the Fringe Central was across the street in the campus of University of Edinburgh. The staff was helpful throughout.

i was disappointed not being able to get a twin bed. The bed we got was too small for two persons! As the room faces the street it was a bit noisy. There was no aircondition in the room. A fan could have been provided for ventilation. Perhaps, a vending machine for drinks would be nice.

    Convenient location

It is not a hotel but a student hostel therefore there is no room service at all.

Excellent location, close to all the Festival goings-on, lots of reasonable places to eat or buy food very close by, the staff was very friendly and helpful, excellent value for the money. Comfortable and clean. Having a washer/dryer was a huge plus.

The fridge didn't work. I mentioned this to the person at the front desk as I was checking out (no time beforehand), but it would be good to look in on these things before people check in.

in the city center, good kitchen and speed internet, when present the people at the reception are very nice.

the room was big enough but the bed was small and very noisy. the room have a bad stink, very strong. the bathroom is 1 mq if you are a little fat you can't make a shower. the reception was present only during the daytime (8-20). is not an hotel, the rooms are not clean every day but only at the end, but you pay like an hotel.

It was close to the festival; staff was helpful

The bed was not comfortable and too small for a double bed

It was like a mini studio flat so had cooking facilities etc.

    Fabulous

Easy to come and go at any time of day or night - suitable for festival. Helpful receptionist.

    expensive for 1 person

    Fabulous

Great location, fulfilled our needs to get out and about during festival time. Know what you're getting would be my advice - this is not really a hotel, as such, but student accomodation (good student accomodation, mind, but student accomodation all the same). Cooking facilities were fine. Great value. If you're looking for somewhere to stay during a city break and want a kitchen and cooking facilities, this is a great option with a great location but there are downsides.

The bathroom is not the best, somewhat awkard and with relatively little room. Functional really. We had someone knock on our door at about 4am, probably something innocent like a friend of a student who lived there wanting to see if his/her mates in, perhaps he\she saw the window open or something, but a little alarming at 4 in the morning. Security could be better downstairs, perhaps, as there is none.

    Superb

Excellent Location...was in the midst of the Edinburgh festival..close to shopping area (Princess street) and most touristic places.(Royal Mile ) excellent internet conectivity. Very helpful staff.

The bed springs were broken n creaking everytime you turned :-)

I liked the location, the freedom to come and go as i pleased, the room was very spacious, and great cooking facilities.

    Superb

The reception staff were delightful - really made us feel welcome. The location was perfect, so close to the Fringe venues.

The bed was a little bit uncomfortable and the bathroom facilities somewhat spartan, but we were expecting this as we knew that the building is generally used for student residence.

The service is not 24 hours and location of hotel is hard to find. Also, there is no air conditioning and the bed is small. Actually it is the dorm for students.
